Ricky Martin arrives in Australia in a few weeks, for a much anticipated Australian tour. Expect massive publicity - radio, press and TV exposure in the weeks leading up to October 15 (Ricky's arrival day!) and during the tour. Ricky will be doing promotion whilst in Australia for "She Bangs" release, and the new album.

After its worldwide radio release last Tuesday, Ricky Martin's "She Bangs," has dominated the airwaves and placed itself on the #6 spot of Billboard's Top 40 chart. Dutch VJ Sonja (TMF) travelled to London last weekend to interview Ricky about his new single and album. Short clips are being shown on the Factory Facts today. The whole interview will air later as a TMF Extra.

Sony NL sent us a quick note to remind us that the release stategy described in the press release was for the Netherlands only. Other countries may have different arrangements with local media. They also emphasize that files currently circulating on Napster and similar programs are FAKE! Please do not waste your time on these.

Ricky will be appearing on Saturday Night Live in the US on November 11th 2000.

The campaign for the new single and the online chat in France will begin on Monday. There will be radio spots on radio NRJ and press ads in Liberation and Le Parisien on Sept 20.

The South American tour is currently scheduled to be between 6th and 21st of December and will be in the major cities of Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica and Venezuela (in alphabetical order). Dates will be announced very shortly.

Ricky just finished recording an uptempo number with producer Brian Rawlings in London for the new album. The album itself features "lots of beautiful ballads" we were told.

Exciting news: We just had the opportunity to be part of a special pre-recording of "She Bangs" at CD:UK: Let us tell you the song rocks - to be more precise: Ricky "rocks the city" - the song an uptempo, catchy, easy-to-remember number which includes lyrics such as:

Ricky is presenting himself in a casual style for this song, performing in torn jeans, boots and black shirt - hair slightly shorter and darker than it appeared at the VMAs (7th Sept).

A note on the side: promotion in Spain has been cancelled and Ricky will only be appearing on Hit Machine in Paris, France. Tapis Rouge has now been cancelled.

• The time has finally come! She bangs is the first single from the new Ricky Martin album. De release is surrounded by a touch of mystery and secrecy, because noone has heard the single or seen the video until now. The release of ythe material is scheduled to happen as follows:
• The single: On tuesday the 19th september a limited number of 10 copies of the single shall be released to a select number of radio stations in the Netherlands. This means, that from this day the song can be heard on those stations. All copies of the single have been numbered so that they can be traced. That has made it possible to prevent illegal previews of the single via the internet.
• The video: On tuesday the 26th september the video will be sent to the Netherlands via a secret satellite connection. TMF will premiere She Bangs at exactly 19.45 CET. Starting at 21.00 CET the video can be requested on The Box by choosing clipcode 800.

The much awaited new single from his new album world premieres this Tuesday, September 19th at 7pm EST as MTV's Carson Daly interviews Ricky about his blockbuster career and his new album. Please also note that various radio stations in the USA will start airing the song on the 19th September. KTU played a little 30 sec preview last Wednesday but will not play anything else until the official radio release date: 19 September.

News from Sony Sweden, a few minutes ago:
* She Bangs will be released October 30 in Sweden.
* The radio are allowed to play SB for the first time September 20
* Monday September 25 we can take our seats to watch the video on MTV, Z-TV and perhaps the video will be on Voxpop September 27.
* The Global album instore date is November 14, 2000. If the recording of the album goes according to plan, Asia, Japan, Europe and Australia may have the opportunity to go one week earlier (November 7, 2000).

Ricky Martin has been forced to change the lyrics in a line from his forthcoming single She Bangs because it has been deemed too saucy for British radio.
Sony record company executives are concerned that the line 'she blew me off' will be taken the wrong way by British audiences, but it will be left in when the single is released across the rest of the world.
A spokesman for Martin explained, 'In America and many other countries the phrase 'she blew me off' just means that a girl has dumped a guy, but in Britain it means something totally different so the line is going to be replaced.'
It is not yet known what the racy lyrics will be replaced with when the track is released in the UK as Martin is yet to record an alternative version.
The Latino heartthrob is renowned for his racy videos and the promo for his chartbusting track Livin' La Vida Loca features a scene where a female model drips melted candle wax on his bare chest. Ricky Martin's world tour this year won over even more fans with extravagant scenery and flamboyant, passionate dance displays.
She Bangs is due for a UK release on 30 October.

Sony Norway states that "She Bangs" can be heard on Norwegian radio channels from next week. They do not have a release date for the single yet. The video will be shown on MTV Nordic (and perhaps TV2) from week 39! The album will be released in Norway Nov. 13th, the same date as reported previously for other countries.

Ricky Martin will perform in the ‘Latin Grammy’s’ this Wednesday, September 13, at the Staple Center in Los Angeles. For this, Ricky Martin requested his performance to be an acknowledgment to Tito Puente’s music. In this way Ricky Martin will pay tribute to Puerto Rico’s music and the figure of the master Tito Puente, who has been an influence to his career. His participation will be at the beginning of the transmission along with other invited artists as: Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz, Arturo Sandoval and Sheila E, among others. This presentation will serve as a preview to the launch of his new single “She Bangs”, which is scheduled to be released worlwide on September 19, 2000.

The radio release for She Bangs has been put back to Sept 19th due to the change of release date. The single will be released worldwide on the 10th October with some countries even being pushed back to the end of October (e.g. France). She Bangs is the first time that Ricky will be singing on a song accompanied by a Jazz Orchestra.
The new album has been confirmed for release on the 14th November (see counter above).

Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, and Sheila E. are among the latest batch of performers added to the inaugural Latin Grammy Awards, being held next week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The New disc will be out on the market November 14th, Angelo Medina, the artist's representative, comfirmed this. Medina also said that the first single titled, "She Bangs", will be launched September 22 in New York. In conversation, Medina also indicated that they don't plan to carry out a launching activity for this disk. He also confirmed that one of the songs included in the New production of Ricky is one from Jon Secada, "LOADED" and the version is in Spanish is "Dame mas," and they were both composed by the Cuban artist. Another melody from Secada, called "One Night Man" is being considered to be included in the cd, but the final determination has not still been taken. In these moments Ricky is in Miami concluding the recording of the CD.

Ricky Martin shines , sensual and dangerous first videoclip of his second record production in English for the international market. The video was filmed during the pasts 4 days in Bahamas and scene had special access, we obtained the exclusive images of this video. The video of the song " She Bangs ", first promotional cut of the album, shot in the Royal Tower of the Atlantis Paradise Hotel. This is the most fascination of the three areas that conform the luxuries hotel. scene was told that Ricky was staying in the Royal Suite, which costs $2500 per night. In general, the video of " She Bangs " shows Ricky dancing in a discoteca, of which he jumps into a mythical club underneath the water, this is the central element of the video. He will encounter a Triton species, a mythical marine monster, to rescue a beautiful girl. In order to obtain this fantasy and sensuality, the lobby of the Royal Tower was transformed into a discoteca. They began to work at night, once the tourists who stay there weren't around. They worked from midnight to the wee hours of the morning, then began filming. Ricky worked into 4:00am the next morning,which Ricky according to describes our informant, arrived ready and full of energy to do the videos. As usual, Martín knew all of the moves like the back of his hand. By 8:00am the lobby was back to its normal appearance. Another take required that one of the internal corridors of the hotel has acrylic walls and a aquarium was transformed into a bath. In fact one of the most sensual scenes of the video was made there, because Ricky is guided by a model towards a shower. The scenes under the water were made in the pools that surround the hotel and in which they inhabit sharks and mantarrayas among other marine creatures. In one scene , Ricky had nothing between the sharks which were accompanied by 3 beautiful girls. It is possible to even mention that even though Ricky participated in all the scenes of the video, the aquatic ones, due to the complicated thing of certain sequences of resorted to a double. On the models that take part in the video, one said that in Miami " casting " were they evaluated 200 models, of which 20 were chosen, all stunning and representative of diverse ethnic groups. They had to know how to dance and to have impeccable skin, due to the extreme closeups of camaras to their body and some sequence filmed on the beach required that some were naked or at least " topless ". Ricky shines in this video an appearance that could be described like " sensual he has a tendency to dominate the world of the fashion at the moment. His hair has been dyed since he arrived on the island. Of this form, everything seems to indicate that this video, directed by Wayne Isham, creator of the successful videos of LLVL, SYBB and TCOL and produced by Dana Marshall will again put RICKY MARTIN at the top of it all, and it will serve to put his new record at the top of the charts.
