Ricky will be appearing on another CBS special singing a Christmas song which he pre-recorded while doing both CBS recordings last week. The complete lineup of guests for the Christmas special will include Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Babyface and Harry Connick, Jr. The air date has not been confirmed yet.
Ricky Martin will appear on "The Late Show With David Letterman" on Oct. 27, 1999. "The Late Show" is on CBS. Please check local listings for air time.
Hurricane Ricky blew through New York this week with performances at The Theater at Madison Square Garden (a private concert for a local radio station) and two television tapings at Liberty Island. Meanwhile, his Puerto Rico concert was moved from Roberto Clemente stadium to Hiram Bithorn in Hato Rey because, according to his manager Angelo Medina, the lighting and sets are too advanced for the original venue. The show is set for February 10th and 11th.
Carlos Santana, who is riding the wave of his most successful release in years, "Supernatural," shared the stage over the weekend with the latest Latin performer to hit the big time, Ricky Martin. Martin taped a live performance special for CBS television Friday and Saturday in New Jersey's Liberty State Park and Santana was slated to be among the guests joining the young heartthrob on the special, which will air at 8 p.m. ET Nov. 26.
"Boy George sorry over Ricky Martin gay slur" - Boy George has officially apologised to Ricky Martin over comments that appeared in the 'News of the World' tabloid newspaper which questioned the Latin singer's sexuality. Boy George claims the article was totally fabricated and that none of the comments actually came from his mouth.

Ricky will be a special guest in one school. He will use special clothes and everyone
sing the theme song of the school, during the whole parade.

Martin places No. 9 on UK entertainment poll (Music365) - Latin singer Ricky Martin clocked in at
No. 9 on Heat magazine's first annual 100 Hottest Stars in Entertainment poll. The Brit publication's poll, which rated stars on earning potential and career longevity, was topped by "Austin Powers" actor Mike Myers, actress Nicole Kidman (No. 2) and pop icon Madonna (No. 3). The inhabitants of the Hot 100 list were decided by the magazine's readers as well as a panel of industry insiders including journalists, pop stars, producers, filmmakers and comedians.
Here are some further information on the previous mentioned Aids Benefit Concert on Sept. 22: Martin adds small venue stop to tour itinerary (LiveDaily.com) - New York radio station WKTU-FM announced Friday that an "up close and personal" benefit concert featuring Ricky Martin will hit the Theater at Madison Square Garden, (which seats 5,600 as opposed to the adjacent 20,000 seat arena that will host two Martin shows in October) in New York City on Sept. 22. A limited number of tickets for the event went on sale through Ticketmaster, and WKTU will also give listeners the opportunity to win tickets through the day of the show. Net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to select charities, including LIFEbeat (The Music Industry Fights AIDS), Ronald McDonald House Charities, Save The Music and SHINE (Seeking Harmony In Neighborhoods Everyday).

Once again the Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin is on the news and his accomplishments are on the cover of every magazine throughout the world. In just months, of the same year, the interpreter of "Livin' la Vida Loca", has put himself again in the #1 spot of the prestigious Billboard
Chart. This time with his second single "Bella", the Spanish version of "She's all That", which is in the 1st position of the "Hot Latin Track" and has been a sensation in various important cities of the world.
Now, Ricky Martin is preparing himself for his participation on the great
event of the MTV Music Award, with six nominations. He is also ready for

Pavarotti & Friends for Guatemala and Kosovo will be released on CD on 21st September. The CD features all artists who took part at the Charity event on June 1, 1999 in Modena. Ricky Martin performed Livin' La Vida Loca, sang a duet with Pavarotti: Mamma and joined into the final with We Are The World.
29 August: (Launch) - In Style magazine named Shania Twain the sexiest female musician in its "What's Sexy Now?" issue. She grabbed a whopping 52% of the votes. Lauryn Hill, Sheryl Crow and Mariah Carey rounded our the top 4. The sexiest male musician title went to Ricky Martin.
28 August: (Billboard Online) - CBS is planning a holiday season hat-trick with new
entertainment specials by Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Ricky Martin. All of the hour-long shows, which will be held on consecutive nights in November, will begin at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Dion will kick off the string of programs Nov. 24 with a concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Numerous guests will join the diva, who will perform past hits and several new songs.
Country/pop singer Twain will appear the following night in her second special for CBS; her first,
"Shania Twain's Winter Break," was one of the channel's highest-rated programs of last season.
Martin will wrap up the run Nov. 26 with his first network entertainment special. The Latin superstar -- whose electrifying performance on this year's Grammys was a highlight of the show -- will be joined on stage by several guests.

Ricky visited London on Friday and Saturday just gone doing various interviews, the live show CD:UK performing Shake Your Bon Bon and a pre-record on the National Lottery.
Ricky then went on to Paris where a special called "Viva Latina" was recorded. The show featured various artists incl. a famous French chanson singer, Lou Bega and the Gipsy Kings. Ricky was the special guest on this show being interviewed throughout the whole show. He performed four songs: "La Copa De La Vida", "Livin' La Vida Loca", "She's All I Ever Had" and as a duet with French singer Patricia Kaas "Stay With Me".
Ricky then went on to New York the following day. He is currently rehearsing for the Aids Benefit Show on 22nd Sept at the Theater in Madison Square Gardens.
Unfortunately the official Ricky Martin website and Sony (UK) website features wrong information: "She's All I Ever Had" is being released across Europe at the moment. Countries like Netherlands, Finland and various others have seen the single release this week, while Germany will see its single release date on 5th October. The UK, however, will not have "She's All I Ever Had" as single but will see "Shake Your Bon Bon" as the next release on November 1st.
"She's All I Ever Had" is currently Billboard Top 100 Singles No. 2.

30 August: SINGAPORE (AP) - Puerto Rican pop sensation Ricky Martin says he may sing Mandarin Chinese on his next album. "Why not?" Martin asked Monday. "Or Japanese," said the singer best known for mixing Spanish and English in hits such as "Livin' La Vida Loca." An Asian influence can be heard on his latest compact disc, titled "Ricky Martin," he said while promoting the album in Singapore. "I spent half the year in Asia last year, and at the same time I was recording my album," he said. "I went back to the studio and told them how I was affected by these beautiful sounds." Martin, once part of the teeny-bopper group Menudo, is wildly popular in Asia. Fans from as far away as Australia and India traveled to Singapore to watch the heartthrob sing five songs at a 30-minute show Sunday.
