Ricky Martin strenghtens his presence in the European airplay charts this week as his duet with Christina Aguilera "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely" is the highest newcomer at 19. AC/National Station in Noordzee FM in Holland, AC formatted Radio 2 in Denmark and Italian CHR Radio Deejay are among 15 stations to add the track this week, pushing it to the top of the MOST ADDED Chart. The song is the only new entry in this weeks European Radio Top 50 at No. 29 with 28 stations now featuring the duet on their play list.

As reported earlier, Ricky will be attending this year's ECHO awards, to be held in Berlin on 15 March. He is scheduled to perform.

Ricky will be presenting an award at this year's Oscar awards, held in Los Angeles, USA on 25th March.

There are rumours of a Greatest Hits album being released in the Latin American market called HISTORIAS (released on 27 February). The album is rumoured to feature 2 to 3 new songs.

Ricky will be appearing on the Rosie O'Donnell show on 24th February in Orlando, USA.

Ricky has been nominated for a Blockbuster award in the best male performer category.

Ricky is nominated as favourite male singer at the Kid's Choice Awards in the US. Favorite male singer: * Lil' Bow Wow, * Ricky Martin, * Sisqo, * Will Smith.

The Goldene Kamera will be broadcast on German TV channel ZDF on 9th February at 21.15.

Ricky Martin on The Early Show: Tune in Tuesday, January 23rd and Wednesday, January 24th to see Ricky Martin on The Early Show.

Ricky will perform his latest hit, "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely." Also, Ricky will discuss his upcoming pre-NFL Special on CBS this Saturday night with The Early Show's Mark McEwen. This two-part special will air in 2 parts on Tuesday,and Wednesday on CBS at 7:30AM. Check your local listings.

Andy Garcia has signed to star in an adaptation of Isabel Allende's ``Gift for a Sweetheart'' one of a series of 90-minute English-language movies based on short stories by celebrated Latin American authors. Latin pop sensation Ricky Martin almost certainly will make acting debut in one of the TV movies, Zurinaga said, as the other partner in Four Moons is Martin's manager, Angelo Medina. Four Moons plans to begin shooting in early spring.

According to Bild newspaper in Germany, Ricky will receive the prestigious GOLDENE KAMERA award in Germany. The Goldene Kamera is the most highly valued media award in Germany. Ricky is scheduled to be at the ceremony in Berlin on 6th February 2001.

Ricky and Christina will be on stage TOGETHER to perform NWTBL at "Wetten Dass...", which is broadcast live from Dornbirn on March 17th.

US fans can watch a 2-part special with Ricky on the CBS Early Show on 23 and 24 January.

Ricky has been nominated for Best International Male at the 2001 Brit Awards. Public voting (British categories only) starts on 16 January at http://www.brits.co.uk/

The video of NWTBL will premiere in the UK next friday on Top of the pops at 19.30 on BBC1.

    US fans can download the official version of Nobody Wants to Be Lonely from SonyMusic by going to Sony Music. You will need: A copy of Sound Loaded a PC, a CD-ROM drive (a CD-R player will not work), internet connection, and Macromedia Shockwave Ver 7.0 or higher.

    NWTBL Release dates:

  • Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands: 12th February
  • Germany: 13th February
  • UK: 19th February

    Ricky is in this month's issue of Vogue in Germany

    Ricky is curently in Miami to rehearse for the inauguration, where he will perform La Copa De La Vida in English and in Spanish.
    As reported earlier, he will travel to New York on Monday, where NWTBL will air live on TRL.
    Ricky may be joining Paul McCartney on stage, who is currently working on a CBS special. This information is unconfirmed.

    Some further information on NWTBL: "Ricky Martin Records Song Co-Written By Nashville's Victoria Shaw (1/11/01, 7 a.m. ET) - Singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw has written hits for such country acts as Garth Brooks ("The River", "She's Every Woman"), John Michael Montgomery ("I Love The Way You Love Me"), and Trisha Yearwood ("Where Your Road Leads"), and can now add pop music to her list of credits. The tunesmith co-wrote "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely", a song recorded by Ricky Martin and performed by the Latin superstar Monday (January 8) night at the American Music Awards. Martin will release it as a single to radio as a duet with Christina Aguilera. Shaw has yet to meet the Latin heartthrob but says she's not too concerned about it, "as long as they spell my name correctly on the checks!" Shaw quipped to The Tennessean."

    As reported already yesterday, Ricky will take part in the inaugural ceremony on 18th January. Hereare some more informatin: (Reuters) "Latin sensation Ricky Martin will join Van Morrison and Kelsey Grammer to kick off the presidential inauguration of George W. Bush, singing amid skydivers and fireworks at a Lincoln Memorial gala on Jan. 18."

    In the US Nobody wants to be lonely will not be released as a commercial single. The duet will be added to the next pressing of the album, replacing a version of the track by Ricky only; until then, a CD single copy of the duet will be bundled with the album at retail. Those who have already bought "Sound Loaded" can receive the single as a download by putting the CD in their computer's disc drive as proof of purchase; they can also send in a sticker on the jewel case to receive the single by mail.

    Some news for Austrian Ricky fans:
    The Austrian radio station Ö3 will premiere NWTBL on Tuesday 9 January. The single will be available in shops from 12 February.

    Ricky Martin is confirmed to appear on MTV's "Total Request Live" on Monday, 1/15/01. In addition Ricky, might be appearing at the Superbowl pre-show on January.

    The ITV Show "An Audience With Ricky Martin" will be shown on British TV on 10th February 2001.

    Ricky has been nominated for a Grammy in the Male Pop Vocal Performance category for 'She Bangs'. The Grammy awards will be held on 21 february in the Staples Center, Los Angeles.
