Ricky spent the last three days in Singapore where he presented a showcase to 300 competition winners and to international press. He arrived on Sunday, 29th August, and was greeted by 400 waiting fans at the airport. For various articles on Ricky's latest stay in Singapore, please click here.
International music superstar Ricky Martin, headlining his first network entertainment special, will be seen Friday, Nov. 26 (8:00 -9:00 PM, ET/PT) in a showcase of what America and the world can't seem to get enough of -- Ricky singing and dancing with his band. Several guest stars will join him. Martins 1999 Grammy Award performance of The Cup of Life on CBS helped make him a household name in this country. His hit single, Livin La Vida Loca, was Number One on the music charts for weeks and his self-titled CD set sales records in stores across the country.

Ricky Martin has now left Japan (4pm local time) and is heading towards Taipei, Taiwan (ROC) to continue his Asian promotional trip.
The Oprah Winfrey Show featuring Ricky and Jennifer Lopez will be shown of Channel 5, on Friday 3rd September 1999 from 1:00pm to 1:45pm in the UK.
As a reminder, the show will be shown in original with German subtitles on German TV Channel TM3 on Aug 29th.
MTV Italy have a special Ricky Martin weekend this weekend with lots of special shows and plenty of videos. "She's All I Ever Had" has been scheduled for release in mid-September in Italy. The Italian record company is hoping to squeeze in some promotion with Ricky towards the end of September but nothing has been confirmed yet.

CANADA: "Fille D'Aujourd'hui" magazine (translated, Girls of today) has a special edition inside their latest issue which is soleley on Ricky Martin. "Livin' La Vida Loca" is currently hot tip to become "top summer song" on Quebec's Station CKOI 96.9. However, a final decision has not been made yet.

Eiko was so kind to send in an update on Ricky's promotional trip to Tokyo: "Today Ricky had a really busy day. The whole day he had interviews and it was around 18:30 that he finally came out of the hotel, Ricky went to J-Wave radio studio for another interview, and until then he did several more interviews with other radio stations. Each radio crew went up to his room one after another, and Ricky must be so tired."

The Ritmo Latino Music Awards - El Premio de la Gente (The Award of the People) announced on Monday (Aug. 16) the nominations for their inaugural show to be held Oct. 20 in Los Angeles. Guess what? Yes, that's right...Ricky Martin, The Love Potion in Motion , has been nominated in the following categories:

- Music Video of the Year [Livin' La Vida Loca]

AUSTRALIA:
Ricky Martin was set to visit Australia for a 5-day promo tour this September but unfortunately, it has to be postponed due to heavy rehearsals for his upcoming US tour, as well as preparing for his performance at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards to be held on September 9. This was confirmed today by Sony Music Australia and announced through the television program, Entertainment Tonight (Australian Edition).
Ricky Martin is currently in Japan for a week of promotions until the 24th, then from there he'll go to Taiwan. He will be finishing off his Asian promotional trip in Singapore, with an exclusive performance that he will be doing for 300 lucky fans.
ASIA:
Eiko was so lucky to see Ricky earlier today (Japanese time). Ricky is spending the whole day doing interviews and photoshoots for 5 main magazines in Japan. "She's All I Ever Had" will be released in the US on 31 August (commercial single release). The single will be out in Australia on August 30th. A UK release date is scheduled for 20th October at the moment.

After Japan, Ricky will be travelling on to Taiwan, then to Singapore from where he'll then continue to Australia on Sept 2nd. In Australia Ricky is scheduled to do in-stores in both Sydney and Melbourne. He'll also be appearing at "Hey Hey Saturday" a local TV show.
GERMANY:
The Oprah Winfrey show with Ricky Martin will be on TM3 (German TV Channel) on 29th August at 12.30pm. The show will be in English with German subtitles.
PORTUGAL:
This week, Ricky's the main international news in the portuguese magazines. With his 6 [+3] nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards he's on Vip (1 full size page), TV7 Dias, Mulher moderna, Nova and on the musical magazine 'Voice' - that features a 'Latinos Special', with 4 pages about Ricky. Marie Michel highly recommends it for those who can get it because they have 12 pin ups of Ricky plus two giant posters but the beauty is that its not just one poster with a picture on each side its actually TWO seperate posters with him on each so that you wont hide one of the Ricky Poster! MEXICO:
After a delay caused to a fault on the plane which was supposed to take Ricky from Argentina to Mexico, Ricky eventually arrived in Mexico City on Aug 12. Sony Music had to cancel a very anticipated press conference. Ricky was able to keep all other promotional commitments though. He did various interviews - Mariana let us know more: "One on "El Noticiero con Guillermo Ortega", the other on "La Botana" with Juan Jose Origel (this interview was
funny because Ricky started sneezing and everyone started to laugh and Juan
Jose gave his leather jacket) and the other in "Ventaneando" with Patty
Chapoy where he talked about drugs (he said that he used them and because of
this experience he is convinced that the spiritual peace is the most
important in a person) and about his girlfriends Rebeca de Alba and
Alejandra Guzman (his face changes everytime he talks about Rebeca..)."
ASIA:
Ricky is now back in Miami before he heads to Asia where he'll be visiting Tokyo, Taiwan and Singapore. Both Tokyo and Singapore will have special showcases to present Ricky's first English album (similar to the Lake Como launch earlier this year). Ricky will be presenting 4 to 6 songs live from his latest album.

MTV Europe are reporting that Ricky Martin will be doing a duet with the Backstreet Boys. MTV are uncertain on when the duet will be recorded or in which language it will be.

Latin pop superstar Ricky Martin, whose self-titled album rebounds to number three on next week's "Billboard" pop album chart, is about to send his fans sprinting toward the nearest newsstand.
As we reported last week, Martin is the subject of a photo layout in the September issue of the fashion magazine "W" "Ricky Martin Upping Exposure With New Video, Magazine Spread").
In the brief essay accompanying photographer Pablo Alfaro's snaps, Ricky ponders the question, "What is sexy?" while the pictures capture the (sometimes) bare-chested singer in bed and hanging out with his Chihuahua, Titan.
The September issue of "W" will be on newsstands nationwide on August 20. The mag will hopefully tide fans over until Martin himself appears live (and in the flesh) on his upcoming North American tour, which kicks off on October 21 at the Miami Arena.

Many sources have said Ricky will pose "nude" in the September issue of "W" Magazine. Todays NY Post has down played this issue stating that Ricky will not be naked in the next issue of "W". Instead, the hunky pop star reveals only his muscular, hairy chest...it was photographed at Ricky's $2 million estate in Miami...the shoot doesn't even come close to being as saucy as Marky Mark's Calvin Klein ad.
RICKY REDUX ON GH?: It sounded like the perfect soap plot! Former General Hospital hunk Ricky Martin (ex-Miguel Morez) - now the hottest thing since Pokemon - returns to the show for a one-day appearance and will donate his salary to charity. Several soap magazines reported on the rumor and even some mainstream gossip columnists followed the story.
There's only one problem: it's not going to happen! "Whatever the
rumors are, they're not true," GH executive producer Wendy Riche tells next week's Soaps in Depth. Is Martin ashamed of his soap roots? Not according to his spokesperson. "Ricky had a great time [on GH]. But I don't even know when he could go back.... He's pretty much booked for the next year."

Ricky Martin has started his Latin American promotional round today. He is currently in Brazil. Ricky will travel on to Argentina on the 9th August (evening). He'll be doing various Argentinian TV and radio interviews on 10th and 11th August. One of the TV shows is Susana Gimenez which is a programme broadcast in all South American countries as well as Miami, Florida - USA. As soon as we have futher details we will put up an updated schedule. Ricky will travel on to Mexico on the 11th in the evening where he'll be doing two days of promotion. News for all Australian Fans: There will be a Ricky Martin TV Special on 14th August at 8.30pm, Channel 9. Be sure to tune in because there will also be a competition where you can get the chance to meet Ricky Martin in Melbourne in September.
"She's All I Ever Had" will be released in Australia on 27th August. The single will be out in the UK in early September.
