TELEMUNDO SNAGS 1-YEAR CONTRACT WITH RICKY MARTIN

Ricky Martin has signed a one-year contract with Telemundo, giving the network exclusive Spanish-language TV access to the Latin pop star. The agreement, reached Monday and revealed Tuesday, gives Telemundo unique access to Martin as he begins his yearlong Livin La Vida Loca Tour. The pact includes an exclusive behind the scenes special that a network spokesman said would probably air in September.

Other terms of the contract:

Telemundo and Martin continue to huddle about rights to an additional concert show. The network hopes to televise Martin's Madison Square Garden concert when the tour moves to New York this fall. As reported previously, the Grammy winning star will also appear in a CBS special this fall.
