Yesterday, Ricky was on Primer Impacto interviewed by Carmen Dominicci.
He said he still does not know if he will be walking in on the red carpet the night of the awards but he will be rehearsing, that there are a lot of changes in his life right now, like the new management team and going back to live in Puerto Rico and that he will be going to Mexico this weekend.

According to George Noriega who gave an interview in a newspaper today in Puerto Rico, Rickys upcoming new English album -due out sometime in May or June - will feature the same energy and excitement as his previous best-sellers but added that its sound will be taken to the next level.

"It will still have the same infectious upbeat sounds, but its fusion of world rhythms will be a little bit edgier and sexier", he explained, adding that Martin is now more involved than ever in the creative and production process.
"We are trying to express our many cultures and musical styles, but in a fresh way in order to break new ground."
Noriega said the album will include 60 percent dance tunes and 40 percent ballads. So far, 80 percent of the disc is done.

According to SonyMusic Australia, the new english album will be released in June.

The puertorican Newspaper El Vocero have released a special edition with 34 pages and photos of visits made by photographers last year and recently to Rickys home.

Regarding the new album, he says that the style of the music will be "Tribal Rock". They have mixed african sounds with american & european rock. There are songs with every kind of rythms. People for children message is also included in various songs.
Ricky, in this album, talks about things he never talked about before and says it's a mature album.

At present time, the album don't have a name yet but it could be named "Burn For You" or "Diamonds in the Sand", titles of 2 of the 12 songs which make up the album.

Ricky hopes the album will be released at the begining of the summer, 6 weeks after the single. Then the promotion tour would start the day of the album release followed by a tour 2 months later starting in August/September. He would like to start his tour in Puerto Rico but for the moment, he doesn't know when and where and which will be his local promotor.

During this year, a 120 pages book will be released which will contains photos only ( artistic photos,spontaneous : during rehearsals, meditating in a temple in India, getting th new tattoo, during the recording of the album, with a long beard), never published before and took by Pablo Alfaro during those past 7 years.It will feature a short introduction to let people know why it ws made and a short explanation under each photos but no interviews or biography.

Ricky will present the book in Puerto Rico, New York and Paris.

Regarding Ricky's new tattoo, he says that it is a woman which represents the four elements of nature : Fire, Earth, Air and Water. The woman symbolizes the water, her hair is movement, the aire and in the rest of the tatoo are the other 2 elements.

It has been just confirmed that Ricky WILL BE attending the Latin Billboard Awards on April 29th in Miami.
He will NOT be performing or presenting but will be in the audience and will HOPEFULLY be taking home a couple of those awards he's nominated for.

The launching of his third album in English considered in principle for May, but it was posponed for September by commercial strategies with a first single probably released in August.

Regarding the tour,it could begin early 2005 starting in Puerto Rico and from there then going to the US.

During the past weekend, the singer Ricky Martin was briefly in Puerto Rico to personally supervise as well as participate in the filming of the commercials which are going to be sued to promote the charity foundation "People for Children" worldwide.

The 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sept. 1 in Los Angeles at the legendary Shrine Auditorium. The show will be broadcast by the CBS Television Network from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT, supported on radio via Univision Radio (the official Spanish-language radio network of the Latin GRAMMY Awards) and highlighted on the Internet at www.latingrammy.terra.com (the official online partner of the Latin GRAMMY Awards).

*Regarding the album he said it would be released "hopefully" in October so that means that it can be postponed aswell. The single will be released in late august.

It's official!....Ricky Martin's next English language album will be released early in 2005. The widely anticipated CD will feature original songs, all of which have been written or co-written, as well as produced, by Ricky and a dream team of producers and writers including The Matrix, Timbaland, Scott Storch, George Noriega, Daniel Lopez and Bloodshy and Avant. Further details will be coming over the next few months. Ricky is traveling to India in the coming weeks to continue his search for exotic sounds from around the world, as he has been doing for the past couple of years, in places as diverse as Egypt, Brazil and of course the Carribean Islands. While in India, he will continue his philanthropic work with a visit to the Kalitala home in Calcutta.

It has to be confirmed cuz remember that dates are always subject to change and that nothing is validated yet but the official RM Columbian FC told us that Sony Argentina told them that the first single would be aired on radios starting in february.

Ricky breezed into town on Wednesday to visit the children of Sabera Foundation, the NGO he supports, ate and played with them, watched TV with them, visited a Sudder Street slum with them and packed his bags late on Saturday.

Ricky landed here from London on Wednesday, just to see the children and spend some time with them.

He landed up at the Kalitala home on Friday morning, had lunch with the kids and watched the Steven Spielberg classic E.T. with them.

He took time out to kick the ball about with some of the children in the slushy fields of Kalitala.

Most of his time though, Ricky spent in Oberoi Grand. Keeping him company for long stretches were the three little Sabera girls he sponsors. He ate dinner with them at the coffee shop and watched TV in his room.

A couple of his companions were with him throughout. One of them denied access to Martin late on Saturday.

Today, at the San Juan, Puerto Rico Superior Court, before Honorable Judge Oscar Dávila Suliveres, the controversy between Ricky Martin and Angelo Medina has ended. After 12 years of forging with great effort one of the most brilliant histories of the entertainment industry, everything returns to where we left off. Ricky Martin and Angelo Medina resolved all their differences withdrawing their judicial and financial claims in New York and Puerto Rico.

Regarding the album, Hossam Ramzy has just completed the Arabian string arrangements for three songs by Ricky Martin for the new album and said that Ricky has been having quite a few Middle Eastern tendencies.

As the result of his significant involvement in activities related to combating trafficking in person and children sexual exploitation, Ricky has been invited to co-host a luncheon at the United Nations on Wednesday, October 20, 2004.

"Beyond Rhetoric and Resolutions: Fighting Child Sex Tourism"

This unique and high visibility event is being organized by the State Department in conjunction with the US Office at the United Nations in New York. Both offices recognize the importance of having Ricky Martin speak about his Foundation, People for Children and his vision about the issue. The primary objectives of this event is to raise awareness of the child sex tourism issue, recognize current "best practices" in this area, and encourage countries to actively combat the problem. Approximately 60 key Ambassadors and designates from countries around the globe as well as private sector corporate leaders will be the primary audience for the luncheon.

This event will end with a press conference attended by the most visible media representatives from across the globe to build worldwide public awareness.

Leonardo DiCaprio has rounded up some celebrity friends to weigh in on presidential campaign issues. To help craft a set of public service announcements encouraging young people to vote in the Nov 2 election.

He appears in the mostly black-and-white spots with six other actors and musicians including Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin and Samuel L. Jackson.

Seven celebrities appear in one 47-sec spot. A 30-second public service announcement has been completed and more are planned, according to Rock The Vote, which developed the spots with DiCaprio and will distribute them.

Ricky's Speech given october 20th 2004 at the UN....

Good afternoon.

* Some months ago, a man in Central America was arrested for paying $10,000 to have sex with an eight month old baby.

* An estimated 5,000 children are currently involved in prostitution, pornography and sex-tourism in Mexico, AND, Nearly 100 a month fall into the hands of the child prostitution networks which are mafias or organized crime syndicates.

* In Tanzania, in the course of one year, 7of street children acquired a sexually transmitted disease because of sexual exploitation.

* Thailand- there are about 200,000 children involved in its sex trade and 86of patrons are local.

*In Campo Grande, Brazil, over 100 young girls are prostituted in sex tourism in 12 brothels- places where girls are bought for periods of one to two weeks.

* An American sex tourist was only sentenced to ten years in jail in Honduras for raping two Honduran boys.

* $7 billion dollars are moved annually within the Trafficking in persons industry - making it the third largest illegal activity of the world.

* And- listen to this- it is estimated that two million children around the world, live under this type of sexual bondage.

Sadly enough, the statistics I just gave you represent only a small fraction of the problem the world faces today in the area of sexual exploitation of children.

This is our era's form of slavery- and helping affect its complete abolition is the reason I am here today. Because, despite the clearly serious nature of even a single ONE of these cases, the visibility afforded to this phenomenon is still minimal, and it's danger is not being expressed with sufficient force.

I am here today to talk about recovering lost childhoods and preventing the daily tragedy in the lives of millions of children sold into slavery every year. Imagine a child locked in slavery. A child so overshadowed by exploitation that insomnia, beatings, rape, and violence are part of his or her daily life. This is what happens to children who are trafficked for prostitution, pornography and as playthings by sex-tourists. About 2 million children from all over the world are subjected to this every year. Some are as young as seven.

Child sex-tourism is spreading on our planet. The demand continues to grow and men fly from one country to another for cheap sex with a child. We must end this demand and protect our children. They are our future.

I just came back from Kolkata India where I've been working with recovering victims for more than two years. They were traumatized but were able to overcome their tragedy. They had recaptured their laughter. I saw a little effort by some spirited people go a long way. We need to supplement their efforts and make them go further. If we work together, we can end this modern form of slavery.

As Martin Luther King said, we have made the world a neighborhood, now it is time to make it a brotherhood.

In an act of faith, I have initiated the People for Children Project as part of the Ricky Martin Foundation-to protect our children and to create a safer world. Come share with me this vision.

Let us transform the tragedies in the lives of these children, to one of hope and joy. Let us move beyond rhetoric and resolutions. Please help us act now. And if you are already fighting this battle, use me as part of your team on our journey of hope.

Child-sex tourism is not just about these 3 words. It is also about demand- about supply- about trafficking in children and sexual exploitation- and it is also about travel. As such, it is not an activity that affects only a few nations. It is, in fact, a human epidemic of international proportions that leaves no region of the world untouched.

There are 3 issues that will be discussed further during today's panel, which I will briefly highlight here...

First, it is imperative that child-sex tourism is understood as an industry that would NOT exist without the demand from adults who are seeking and utilizing children for sexual commercial purposes inside and outside their countries. My Foundation will support initiatives on educating children to resist the demand, law-enforcement officers to understand the demand, and adults to see the consequences of this crime, through training and awareness programs. All of you at the UN can help me in enhancing this activity. Once again, we need your help!

Secondly, it is important to cut off the DEMAND and recognize child-sex tourism and child trafficking as a criminal offense within countries and also across countries. A first obvious step towards achieving this goal- is to harmonize laws, policies, codes of conduct, and many other national and international efforts, so that sexual offenders cannot get away with impunity by traveling abroad for sex with a child. The World Tourism Organization has spearheaded a growing interest in making travel, in all its forms, safe for children everywhere. We HAVE begun a positive process towards the elimination of child-sex tourism and must build on this momentum.

Finally, the only way we can change the world is with cooperation and with group effort. As I said it is impossible to prevent, combat or eradicate child sex tourism in isolation.

We need to step out of denial...this is happening and it is happening everywhere we look, and in places we can't even see...

Coalitions and alliances must be strengthened, where previously absent, bridges must be formed, and whatever differences may exist between nations we must look beyond such divisions and focus on what needs to be our main global concern... the lives of children.

Imagine the fear of a child as young as eight years old, who should be in school, well nurtured, innocent and playful who instead is trafficked, beaten, raped, and whose identity and hope for a bright future has been stolen. The task we are faced with is complicated and challenging- but as leaders and representatives of nations who have the power to set standards and examples, I urge you all to take strong decisive action in what pertains to these crimes against our most vulnerable citizens...our children. It is my sincere belief that the smallest and most powerless among us, our children, are just as entitled to human rights, health and justice as the strongest among us.

Let us take advantage of this momentum, nurtured by an established and growing movement to end child sex tourism.

Ladies and gentleman, the bottom line is...

This is war, and we need to win, and to win we need to work together.

Let us demonstrate with resolve, that this crime has no place in our world today.

Since the inception of the Latin Entertainment Industry group, Estefan Enterprises has played a significant supportive role for City of Hope, the world-renowned biomedical research facility. The award was presented at a star-studded, gala dinner on November 18, 2004. Proceeds from the event will benefit City of Hope's research, treatment and education programs for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Ricky was on CNN español yesterday to talk about what happened in Asia.

He said he would travel to Thailand on monday and visit the affected zones in the name of Ricky Martin Foundation and his program "People for Children" and UNICEF, of which he is ambassador of good will.

The singer will talk to the leaders of these nations with the intent to change the laws, which uyntil now have not guaranteed the security of these small ones.

Today is January 12, 2005 (local) and Ricky arrived this morning at 6:10am in Bangkok where he was greeting by press from all over. He held a small press conference, said a few words and then continued on to the hotel. This morning he met with the Prime Minister and is scheduled to meet with the Thai Foreign Minister this afternoon. During his visit to Bangkok, Ricky will be visiting a number of orphanages and shelters in the area. Tomorrow he travels to Phuket.

The commercial will be broadcasted starting from today, during the break of the telenovela "Senhora do Destino".
It wants to enhance the concept that Brazilian woman is really special and for this reason, Ricky is surrounded with 40 models, flirting with them.

The slogan of the campaign is "C&A, o poder da moda" (C&A, a fashion's power).
The commercial, created by the agency Avanti Propaganda promotes the fall-winter collection of C&A.
The singer was chosen because of the fact that he feels himself as being a bit Brazilian "I have Brazil in my blood" he said, and because he loves practicing capoeira.
The aim of C&A is to show an image related to a young, sensual and vibrant life style.

Gisele Barroco, director of the 02 Films, says that the commercial is high quality, with images that intertwine themself as a lacework or a mandala.
The scenery has many transparences that help the overlapping of light and images.
"A visual supremacy was already present in the spot, even before the post production work" says Barroco.
The campaign includes also advertisements, spots, posters and internet.
The idea is Márcio Delgado's, and the track is Dr. DD Raw's.

Ricky Martin has arrived in Sao Paulo, Brazil yesterday morning.
He will shoot 2 C&A commercials, one for for Mothers'day and one for Friends'Day and the photos for the next campaign today (the 18th.)

He will be in Brazil until sunday the 20th.

The Foundation Ricky Martin and Habitat for Humanity will construct 224 homes.
The goal is to finish the houses in 2007, but Ricky is hoping to return to Phang Nga in a year to bring the keys to the families as well as to help with the construction of the houses. The singer said, also that Habitat for Humanity has a presence in Puerto Rico. Specifically in Cantera there they have built 13 houses.

According to El Vocero, Ricky's new album first single would be "I'm the one".

The song's rythms would be similar as reggaetón and would include a spanish version which was grabbed a few days ago in NYC.

Regarding the release date, the single should be released this summer and the album late august/early september.

From what Ricky said, he's at the moment in the pre-production of the new tour. During this year, he's going to make special appearances, something accoustics, more intimate, and then in theaters in Puerto Rico, NYC, etc. He wants to do it in all the important city.

The House building is doing great, 224 houses started to be build and in less than a month they'll start giving keys to families.

Ricky's new single will be "I Don't Care", and the album is set for September!!

The new single "I don't care", which is characterised by Univision as very danceable song, will be released to radio mid June. Prior to that Ricky will present the track LIVE in several clubs.

Univision also reports that:
-as expected- the majority of the songs on the new album will be in English
- the album will include several tracks which Ricky (co-)wrote, such as '" I don't care"
- The album includes a collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas and with a SURPRISE GUEST.

The single will be released in english and also in spanish (called "Que Mas Da"). There will also be a spanglish version available.

Ricky has said that "I don't care" is sexy, incredible and danceable. Scott storch and sean garrett ( who wrote "YEAH" for Usher)collaborated on the song and from what Ricky said there will be a special guest on the track.

On Wednesday, June 1st, Ricky Martin will participate in the 2005 World Report organized by CNN in honor of its 25th Anniversary. The three-day conference will play host to the international press, humanitarians and dignitaries from around the globe.

The segment of the conference in which Ricky will participate is entitled A Call to Action. Ricky hopes to attract the support of many of the world’s dignitaries and humanitarians by highlighting some of the issues and concerns that affect the world’s disenfranchised, including children living in poverty, and victims of wars and natural disasters.

He will give a short speech on the Ricky Martin Foundation and its current and upcoming projects. It will cover the progress of the homes being built in Thailand by the Foundation in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, for victims of the 2004 Tsunami. In addition, Ricky will also talk about the need for the international community to continue to address the trafficking and abuse of children around the globe.

The conference which takes place at CNN headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, will be attended by such celebrities and dignitaries both live and virtually as former presidents Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter; Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Anan; Angelina Jolie and Bono.

Ricky Martin was honored as a hero in the fight against modern-day slavery, the US State Department announced.


"International superstar Ricky Martin has devoted his time, resources and energy to improving the lives of children around the world," the department said in a statement.

UK newspaper Sheffield Today reports that Ricky may take part in the Sopot international Song Festival in Poland this summer!

"The tour includes a slot at the world-renowned Sopot International Song Festival, near Gdansk where the band will perform alongside Latin star Ricky Martin, to a 24,000-strong crowd."

This is (of course) to be confirmed.

Vocero reports that the album will be released by Sony in October and that Ricky will most likely be back on stage (touring)in 2006. As was previously reported by the Calgary Sun, Vocero indicates that first single should be at the radio stations in August. The video for this single will be shot in NYC.

The opening ceremony of the Congress will be tomorrow at night, in the Palace of Culture. The Queen Noor, accompanied by members of the real family, members of the diplomatic body of their country and officials of the Organization of the United Nations will welcome Ricky who will be the first one in offering a brief speech.

There is a possibility that he may attend a children's conference orginised by Queen Noor (24-30 July).

Ricky will visit this evening the Center of Arts of Queen Noor.

Ricky said he planned to do a concert tour of the Mideast and North Africa, including Jordan and the Palestinian territories, tentatively scheduled for May 2006 and that he would travel later today to Thailand where his organization, the Ricky Martin Foundation, had built 225 homes to protect children orphaned by the tsunami that swept through South Asia earlier in the year.

Ricky currently in New York where he is doing a series of interviews and photo shoots for a number of US and International media outlets, including print, TV and radio. During his week in the Big Apple, Ricky will also be filming the videos for both the English,
"I Don't Care", and Spanish,
"Que Mas Da", versions of his first single, before heading over to Europe this weekend.

RIGHT THIS MINUTE, Ricky is on set in Brooklyn, New York, filming the video for "I DONT CARE," ("QUE MAS DA") the first single from his new album LIFE. He is recording the video in English and Spanish as the song will be simultaneously released in both languages. The video set is fantastic, showing a very different Ricky than you are used to seeing. Production began in the very early morning hours, and Amerie and Fat Joe are both expected to participate later in the day...The winner and her guest of the RMMUSIC contest to be at the video set with Ricky are here now and will be bringing you a full report later on....Keep checking back for more information and photos (NOT TODAY...but very soon!!)...

This week Ricky is in Germany and the UK on a promotional visit, during which he will be doing a number of interviews for radio, print and television.

Ricky returns to Europe to start promoting his 3rd english album, LIFE.


During Ricky's current week long visit to Europe, he will be visiting both Germany and the UK. While in Germany he will be doing a number of interviews for many of the major print magazines in the region. Many of the interviews will not be released until about the same time as the album.

Ricky departs Germany midweek to travel to the United Kingdom. During his 4 days in the UK he will be doing a number of interviews with print media, as well as interviews with some of the local radio stations including, West FM, Cool FM, Clyde 1, Real Radio Scotland, Radio City, and Heart FM, among others.

Joe brought his youngest son to the set, who is just too cute! Diane Martel directed, and it was the first time I met/worked with her. She's definitely cool people. (I'm so happy I've just been surrounded by the best folks these days! I love it!) It was fun because I did some scenes with Ricky, and also some dancing, straight performance stuff. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced its partnership with The Ricky Martin Foundation to continue raising awareness among English- and Spanish-speaking audiences on the issue of human trafficking. The partnership is the latest development in HHS's Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking national public awareness campaign.

"Ricky Martin is well known throughout the world and cares deeply about the well-being of children," said Wade F. Horn, Ph.D., HHS assistant secretary for children and families. "Our partnership with Mr. Martin and his passion for combating human trafficking will expand the awareness of this growing problem."

Ricky is rumoured to be presenting an award at the VMA on 28 august 2005. In addition, the NYpost mentioned that Ricky will be previewing his album in a 1-hour special on Oprah a week prior to the release.

Ricky announced today on Radio City (radio station) that the concert tour will start on 16 November 2005 in Mexico.

"Drop it on me" a track in collaboration with Daddy Yanke eand Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas was received very well by the press.

"Till I Get to You" is heavy rock
"I Won't desert you" with a hip-hop beat and sounds planned.

"I am" together with Voltio has a highly sexual content.

"I don't care" first single with Fat Joe & Amerie. The Spanish version "Qué más da" includes the participation of the Luny Tunes.
