Robert Avellanet has written and sent 7 songs to Ricky to be evaluated and perhaps included in his new album.

Ricky will be one of the artists present at the White House to present El Ultimo Adios on 12 october during a celebration of the Latin culture.

Deutsche Press Agentur reports that a Ricky song will be included on the soundtrack of the next J Deep film: Bolivar.

Ricky has canceled the trip to Dubai on october 3 due to the international situation.
It now appears that the event has been rescheduled to January 2001.

Ricky will be one of the artists performing at the United We Stand concert on Sunday, October 21, at RFK Stadium in Washington. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 12.

There will be a VHS and a DVD available of the Brian Wilson Tribute.

Ricky, among other latino artists, will be featuredon the soundtrack of the next J Depp film: Bolivar! This is to be confirmed, as apparently J. Depp denied his involvement in the film as well.

She bangs won the Latin Grammy for best video of the year at the 2001 Latin Grammy Awards, which were announced yesterday.

KC Ported (Cambia la Piel) has received the Grammy for producer of the year.

Ricky will be performing at the D-200 Super Worldcup Concert in Seoul Korea on 12 November. He is scheduled to arrive in Korea on the 10th.
The performance at the Jamshil Stadium will be almost 1 hours long (6-7 songs). Other artists appearing at this concerts are Michael Bolton, Def Leppard, Choi Gun and Seo Taiji. The concert will be broadcast on TV in Korea, as well as in other countries and there will be a webcast.


Italian radio has started playing the new remix of Amor, which is being used to bromote the release of the best of in Italy on 9 November. According to Sony France no single will be released.

Ricky has won an Eres award for best male latin artist at this year's awards ceremony.

Ricky cancelled the appearance at the Charity Gala in San Juan, PR on October 26th because of other commitments. Earlier the appearance at the United We Stand benefit was cancelled as well.

Ricky among others artists will donate a mask to a for "the fight against the cancer". The NHL will put the gifts on display in NYC after which they will be featured on internet (mid-january) to be sold at auction!

Sony Japan released the following information after speaking to Angelo medina Management Office:
The best thing for Ricky is having tours. He wants to go back on the stage ASAP. Angelo said.
But he's on vacation and recording his new album now, it seems that the next tour will be the after releasing the new album at least. Sony person mentioned.

In this album Ricky is collaborating with various producers and try to compose the different taste of songs he ever had. He also plans doing self-producing. It would come true.

During vacation, Ricky had spent days in Nepal.

Angelo Medina stated the following about Ricky not being at the Charity Gala in San Juan:

Ellos no se han montado en un avión desde entonces", indica el productor, al aclarar que, pese a que se contempló la participación de Ricky Martin, nunca se confirmó su intervención en el evento."Ricky no está haciendo apariciones públicas en ninguna parte porque, después de 9 años, cogió su año semisabático porque se encuentra en el estudio grabando". (Basically saying that Ricky's participation in the event wasn't confirmed and that he is not making any public appearances...after 9 years he is now taking his semi-sabbatical year, because he's in the studio recording his new album.)
