As reported previously, the album launch will take place in Mexico and Spain. The single 'Tal Vez' should be on the radio by 9 april.
(Note: we don't have any more news yet on what is happening with a different single in Europe)

Promotional activities are planned for Puerto Rico and various cities in the USA, including New York and Los Angeles. In addition, activities are already planned for Japan, China, Australia and Canada.

Alejandro Sanz will be discussing his work with Ricky, amongst other things, at the upcoming Billboard Latin Conference in Miami.

Puerto rican newspaper El Nuevo states that the title of the Spanish album, with a mix of ballads and uptempo songs, might be 'Almas del Silencio' (Souls of silence). His new style wil be like James Dean, which was apparently an idea of photographer Steven Klein, who did the cover shoot. The video for Tal Vez will be shot in Prague or in Aargentina.

Ricky has worked with production team The Matrix in their studios in LA. It is unclear whether it is for a song on the Spanish or the English album.

Vocero reports that Ricky will be working on his 'electronic press kit'or EPK in Miami all week. His 'look' will be very similar to the one he had when he was spotted walking through San Juan last week (see pictures on the forum).

Finally, some schedule updates to the one released by Sonymusic Australia some weeks:
The day before the release of the album (19 May), the official promotions will start in Mexico. On May 21st Ricky will be 21 in Los Angeles, followed by a 2-day stay in new York, after which he will continue to Miami (25-26 May) and Puerto Rico on the 27th. There will be no press conferences, instead Ricky will be doing various 10-minute interviews with members of the press in each city.

The videoclip for Tal Vez will be shot before these official promotions start.

The plans for promotions for the next two years are being finalised. The opening night for Ricky's worldtour tour will be 14 february 2004 in Puerto Rico. The location is not confirmed, but the show might be at the new stadium in Hato Rey.

The release of the English album is now planned for February 2004.

Last saturday the last song for the new album was recorded/finalised at Ricky's studio in Miami. The song is called Raza de mil colores and it is a collaboration with the Cepeda brothers and Edwin Colón.
According to Angelo Medina this album is an interesting mix of latin rhythms.

Another track on the album is Jaleo, written for Ricky by flamenco guitar player Rayito.

This past monday, Ricky was in New York for the mastering of the new CD. Vocero reveals that the photo shoot for promoptions lasted three days, with around 10 costume changes per day. The last day of the shoots was outside at an industrial plant where parts of the movie 'Cocoon' were filmed. The shoots were done by Steven Klein and Pablo Alfaro.

Both Alejandro Sanz ('Almas del Silencio') and Jon Secada ('Así es que te quiero'- an uptempo song with plenty of percussion) contributed a song to the new album.
Secada says about Ricky's new album that everyone will be very impressed as it is very mature. He will allso contribute songs to the English album.

On Tuesday, March 25th, the first international radio single of Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin's new album will begin to be aired on radios.

The song that will mark the return of the artist is called "Tal Vez", a composition of the Venezuelan songwriter Franco De Vita.

The launching of this single advances the promotion ,which had been announced for April 9th.

The album will be presented/displayed in the international market on May 20th. For that occasion, Ricky Martin will undertake an intense tour of promotion by the countries of Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States and Spain.

We've been told today that the single for Europe has changed and now it will be JALEO which will be released in Europe.

The management has confirmed that the Radio released date for Tal Vez will be March 25th.

Several American radio stations are already playing small soundclips of Tal Vez. An LA station will be playing the whole song on monday.

Here is a snippet of the lyrics of Tal Vez:

Besides a duet with Alejandro Sanz the album will also contain a duet with the female singer Rosario.

Finally, we have been told that the former single for Europe (Besos de fuego) has the "taste" of songs like La Bomba and PAPA.

Newspaper El Nuevo quotes Ricky about the war : "Esta es una guerra estúpida. En realidad todas las guerras lo son".

Ricky's management reported to RickyFanForum that Ricky will be on the cover of the magazine Vogue in Spanish along with Esther Cañades on April 1st and that there will be newspaper articles in Mexican newspapers this Sunday, March 30th. They confirmed that Puerto Rican newspapers will also have articles this Sunday, that the first single will be on radio station airwaves Monday or Tuesday, and that the release date for the cd is definitely May 20th.

From interviews in various newspapers comes the following information:
- The video for Tal Vez will be shot in Argentina and the one for Jaleo in Brazil.
- Ricky will be moving to Puerto Rico before the end of the year
- The English album was nearing completion when - late last year- Ricky decided from one day to another to work on a Spanish production first.
- His new look, styled by Ariane Phillips and Jimmy Paul, is not inspired by James Dean, but merely a return to 'simplicity': back to basics.
- He will continue his collaboration with Armani

Sonymusic Sweden has confirmed that JALEO will be released a a single in Sweden. The date has not been set, but the single will be sent to radio soon. Like in the rest of the world, the album ALMAS DE SILENCIO will be released mid May.

According to Fm Hit Argentina, Ricky will be in Buenos Aires on June 17th and 18th.It's also rumored that he will be Argentina on april 7th to 9th, shooting the Tal Vez video on april 9th.

Jaleo's video will be shoot in Brazil at the beginning of april.

The new single for Europe 'Jaleo' will be aired on the spanish radios at the end of the week and also on the german radios this week.

Ricky will be in Milan, Italy on april 17th or 18th only for one day (Date still TBC). He will do TRL and various press & TV interviews.

According to Sony Music Costa Rica Ricky will presents his new album doing private concerts between May 19th to 28th.

According to Sony Music Australia the single that will be released will be 'Jaleo', it will aired on the australian radios on april 28th and the new album will be released on may 26th.

Jaleo was played today on Spanish radio in the programs CADENA DIAL and 40 PRINCIPALES.

In the latin market, the single of Tal Vez will contain 2 versions of the song.

The album 'almas del silencio' will contain some EPK footage and a couple of bonuses.

Ricky will present his album in Mexico on 14 May with a private show that will be open to a select group of fans. the show will be recorded and transmitted on Mexican television.

Newspaper Reforma reports that on 9 June Ricky will be in India to record a special track for an album of to benefit the Sabera Foundation.

It is now confirmed, Ricky will be at the end of the week in Argentina to shoot the video for Tal Vez.

Sony Japan announced a tentative release date for Japan and a tracking list
(still not comfirmed yet).

They also mentioned that the former both best albums in English and Spanish
released for breaking off his works until 2000 and the upcoming production
will be THE NEXT STAGE for Ricky's work and career.

'Jaleo' will be aired on the french radio next week and the single and album will be both released in may.

Seem that Ricky will arrive tomorow morning at Buenos Aires, Argentina and will be there for 4/5 days.

Ricky will be in Madrid on april 22nd or promotio and on the 23rd in Barcelona.(TBC)

He will come back on may 28th in Madrid for promotion. (TBC)

Ricky will arrive in Mexico on may 11th and will stay there for promotions until may 14th.Tvshows recordind, press interviews and a concert for the fans at the "hipodromo de las Americas" in the south of Mexico city are scheduled.

Ricky will be in Puerto Rico (TBC) on may 20th giving interviews and doing public promotions activities to share with the fans.

Ricky was live via telephone in inteview on all the puertoricans radios.

He said :

- He's in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil where he's shooting the video for Jaleo and that he's very enthusiastic with the videos which will be an important part of the album promotion.
- - He will be in Puerto Rico on may 20th (day of the album release) and that he will bring Medias from differents part of the world.
- He will do a showcase in a unplugged style for the Medias and the Official FC in Puerto Rico.
- - The same week he will visit Spain, Mexico and the US.
- He will spend 6 months to promote the album and he wants to visit each country.
- The international tour will start in spring 2004 after the release of the english album at the end of the year/beginning of 2004.
- - About the war he said that he considers this conflict stupid, without any sense and that he doesn't find the logic. He added that as now it's alread started, we need to pray for those who are in the battles.
- In June, he will meet with the Dalai Lama to talk about the situation of the children in the world and especially about the children from Irak situation.

Ricky will arrive to Argentina today and will start shooting the video for Tal Vez tomorow in La Boca.

The recording of the first music video is in the hands of a Puerto Rican: Juan Lopez Mari, best known in the publicity world as "Kacho", who works as a director of Paradise Films and who knows Ricky since 1991.

Together with Kacho, work other Puerto Ricans, such as Carlos Perez, who will be the video coordinator.

About the story that will tell the video, Kano said that various stories will be presented in which it will show what happens when we don't express the love we feel for our loving people : Parents, children, friends, lovers, boyfriends/girlfriends, husbands/wifes,ect..

It's a song which inspires sadness because it implicates the end of a relation but, at same time, teach us a lot, conclude Kacho.


Ricky arrived in Buenos Aires yesterday at 4:45pm (localtime). He will be here util thuesday trying to shoot his video a it's is raining a lot. It will be shoot in two neighborhoods of Buenos Aires : La Boca(where he did Maria´s video) and San Telmo.

Today, FM hit will be interviewing him at his hotel.

Ricky Martin will headline the TMF Awards in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) on 19 April 2003. Unfortunately tickets for this show already sold out weeks ago.
